An online exhibition of artists' film and video circling around concepts and use of language and takes its title Steve Hawley and Tony Steyger's 1994 Channel 4 documentary on invented languages. The exhibition is inspired by language and voice related art events in London during February 2012 including Lawrence Abu Hamdan’s exhibition Aural Contract: The Freedom of Speech Itself at The Showroom (1 February - 27 March) and the accompanying events programme A Right to Silence which includes a screening of Jean-Pierre Gorin's Poto and Cabengo, an essay documentary about twins who invented their own language on 7th March at Electra. Also an exhibition on The Themersons and Gaberbocchus Press at the ICA (25 January - 25 March) and a special day event focusing on The Themersons 1 Day Before Yesterday – 1 Day After Tomorrow (18 February) which includes a presentation and screening by Erik van Zuylen (Director of Stefan Themerson and Language).
