LUX is currently developing a major new international festival of artists’ moving image to be based in Norwich, Norfolk and launching in Autumn 2011. The festival aims to build on the success and profile developed by the Aurora Festival which took place in Norwich from 2007-2009 along with LUX’s experience and profile as the leading UK agency for the support and promotion of artists working with the moving image.
The festival will be discursive and ideas-led, acting as an international focus for current moving image practice. Presenting a survey of contemporary international artists’ work in spaces across the city and the region and providing a meeting point for artists, curators, critics and the public.
LUX is a London-based organisation with a national remit so is committed to working across the country. We are interested in establishing a festival in Norwich because of the profile already developed by Aurora, by the ‘destination’ status of the city and its strong visual arts infrastructure and reputation, such as East International.
